Women Empowerment
Women Empowerment
What is women empowerment? Women's empowerment is the act of supporting
women's self-worth, their ability to make their own decisions and their right
to influence the society for themselves and others. Women should be able to lie
a happy and respected life in society without being judged for their actions.
Women are empowered when they have unhindered access to education, jobs, and
lifestyle.
Women empowerment is a fundamental human right to achieve a more
peaceful and prosperous world. The movement is divided into three waves,
first beginning in the 19th century as a radical approach in favor of
women's rights and equality between women and men. The second wave is in the
1960s that covers the role of women in society. The last wave is in the
beginning of 1990s that features feminism. Women empowerments continue to break
new records in recent years.
How to empower women? First and foremost, education for girls should be
made mandatory so that they do not become illiterate and unable to support
themselves. Women should be given equal chances in all fields regardless of
gender discrimination. On a more personal view, women should be appreciated and
encouraged to pursue their dreams. We should eradicate forced marriages, dowry
system and child marriages to help women.
When given the right support, women will shine brightly in their respective fields. Hence, for all the women in the world, we should aim at creating an environment of integrity. This is the only way that we can strive towards bringing women empowerment.
